Words for Counting objects

We have grouped a small set of 10 JLPT N5 Japanese kotoba that represent counting of objects

Note: You must know Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji to learn them.

This is a easy milestone to cross because you have to attach "tsu" to numbers producing the counting of that number. That is all. Looking at the Japanese writing you can easily understand the counting. However you will have to take care of the reading for Japanese words representing counting objects from ONE to NINE. They are different. Ten onwards there is no special representation for counting objects just the number will do

List of JLPT N5 words that represent counting of objects

Kanji Kana Romaji Meaning
一つ ひとつ Hitotsu One
二つ ふたつ Futatsu Two
三つ みっつ Mittsu Three
四つ よっつ Yottsu Four
五つ いつつ Itsutsu Five
六つ むっつ Muttsu Six
七つ ななつ Nanatsu Seven
八つ やっつ Yattsu Eight

Now you have completed learning them. Congrats. This is a "small success" and a step ahead to completing all JLPT Level N5 Vocabulary.
